I've been carrying around this carpet fragment for four years since I bought it in an antique store in Westport, MA. I had it identified by my neighbor Paul Demauro, an antique dealer specializing in rugs who lives here in Franklin as mid-19th century Kurdish. Last November, while I was in Lima, I worked with knitter and knit jacquard expert Felix Canazaca at Innovative Knitwear to reinterpret it in alpaca.
