Sometimes I make and sell a cocoon cardigan and have difficulty parting with it. This is mostly due to wanting to use it as a prototype because it is so unique. The Diamond Coverlet cocoon was definitely one of those. 

It was made from this incredible black and white coverlet I purchased at an antique mall in Oneonta and a vintage army blanket. The hand-knit alpaca interpretation is wonderful, and I couldn't be happier with the result. It's the greatest Knit cocoon cardigan I have ever created! It arrives in late September. Here is a swatch we used from the original coverlet to interpret the knit structure and a detail from the original cocoon.
